金 Jīn - Metal
金
Metal
Metal
expresses health and righteousness
With
concentration at its core it neurotically strives for a structure that can hold
up to strain
As
a blacksmith longs for valuable treasures
Refined
then polished, a child is born, and acts of service are done
It
is about material identity, honing things in, perfecting what has been done by
keeping what is good and expelling what is not
It
fears being unwanted by others
Its
season is fall, its time is sunset, and its age is elderly
Its
moral foundations are in fairness and reciprocity
Greed
and laziness can taint its goodness
If
metal wants to be useful, it must be smelted
It
is much like a young boy
It
needs to accomplish
The
one seeks a treatment
It
is felt through grief, satisfaction, and smell; seen in monochrome and formed
as Hexahedron
Its
stern personality is tenacious, unyielding, competitive, sharp and righteous
Its
soft personality is refined, grandiose, brilliant, meticulous and materialistic
A
blacksmith earns by creating, inspires collecting, is strengthened by
distribution and is controlled by display.
As
it contemplates, it moves inward
On
the hand it would be the index finger. Declining from the centre, turning inward,
almost done. A useful tool
In
TCM it has to do with the lungs, lymph and immune system, and is associated
with what is pungent
In
feng shui it is associated with the colours white through grey, and round,
spiral shapes
Its
odd number is 7 and its even number is 6
